Tramore Surf Camps For Kids & Teens

In our summer camps, it’s usually 10am and 12pm for kids and 2pm for public lessons. Booking is essential so please call ahead to secure your place. However, the majority of our lessons are subject to tide times and can vary day to day (you’ll want the raddest waves after all!) If you’re thinking of booking a particular day, we will let you know what time to arrive at during your booking.

We have a dedicated changing room located at the side of the surf school.

Yes! We are open all year round. Public lessons are limited during the colder months, however private lessons can be booked from 2pm.

Nope, turn up on your own or bring an entire school with you – we can accommodate everyone.

Winter and Summer O Neill wetsuits, if it’s cold you can rent gloves, hoods and booties. We only use 3 fin soft boards for our lessons, as these are better suited to newbies.

We have wetsuits ranging from 8 year old kid suits up to 2xl wetsuits. We cover everything inbetween for both sexes – don’t worry, we can fit you into a wetsuit too!

None at all. Our camps are designed for complete beginners, as well as kids who’ve surfed a bit before. We start with the basics and build confidence at each child’s pace. All levels are welcome.

Kids’ Surf Camps are open to children aged 6–16. We group kids by age and ability so everyone feels comfortable and gets the right level of coaching

Just the essentials:

• Towel
• Swimwear to wear under the wetsuit
• Sunscreen
• A warm jumper or hoodie for after the lesson
• Water bottle
• A light snack (optional)

We provide all surfing equipment, including wetsuits and boards.

Yes. Safety is always our priority. If conditions get too rough, we’ll either move to a safer spot on the beach or run fun land-based activities like technique training and games. If weather makes it completely unsafe, we’ll contact parents with alternative arrangements.

Absolutely. All our coaches are fully ISA-qualified, trained in beach safety, and Garda vetted. They also have years of experience working with children in the water.

That’s very common, and totally fine. Our instructors are brilliant at helping nervous kids feel safe and supported. We take things slowly, stay in shallow water, and focus on fun first. Most kids find their confidence within the first session.

Yes, of course. Just let us know during booking or on the first morning and we’ll do our best to keep friends together in the same group.

We often run sibling discounts and reduced rates for kids doing more than one week. These vary by season, so just get in touch and we’ll fill you in on the current offers.

If your plans change, we offer flexible options. You can transfer your child to another week (subject to availability) or receive a refund if you cancel within our notice period. Full details are included at checkout and in your confirmation email.

We keep groups small to ensure safety and quality coaching. Typically, it’s around 1 instructor to every 6–8 kids, depending on conditions. This gives every child plenty of attention and support.
